This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and which rights you have as a visitor. We publish this page in plain language so you can make informed decisions without hiring a lawyer.

By using JSONStudio products or browsing our website, you agree to the practices described here. We update the policy at least once per year and announce material changes through on-site banners and changelog entries.

2. Data we do not collect

JSONStudio's viewer, formatter, and validator run exclusively on the client side. The JSON documents you load are never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share them with support. We do not log payloads, inspect their contents, or store them in caches. This architectural decision protects trade secrets, customer records, and personally identifiable information (PII).

We also avoid fingerprinting techniques such as canvas tracking or hidden network calls. Our business model relies on transparent advertising and premium enablement services, not on reselling user data.

3. Data we collect

To operate the website and meet legal obligations, we collect limited categories of information:

- Device metadata: browser version, operating system, screen size, and preferred language. Used to debug performance issues and optimize UX. Stored in privacy-focused analytics tools with strict retention limits (currently 180 days).

- Interaction events: anonymized counts of button clicks, feature usage, and validation errors. These metrics help us prioritize improvements and prove to partners that we maintain an actively developed product.

- Contact information: if you email support or submit a partnership request, we store your name, email address, and organization in our CRM so we can reply and keep audit logs.

- Advertising data: when AdSense or future ad partners serve units on our content pages, they may set cookies or local storage entries as required by their own policies. We never combine those identifiers with the tool usage data mentioned above.

JSONStudio uses first-party cookies only for essential functions such as remembering theme preferences. These cookies do not track users across sites. For example, aggregated usage metrics inform our roadmap, while error logs help us detect abuse. 7. Data retention and security

Support tickets and CRM entries are retained for up to three years, after which they are anonymized or deleted, unless legal obligations require longer storage. Analytics data is aggregated and purged on a rolling basis, typically within six months. Advertising cookies follow the retention policies of the respective providers; consult their documentation for specifics.

We secure the limited data we hold through access controls, hardware security keys, encrypted backups, and change-management reviews. Internal policies restrict who can view support inboxes or analytics consoles, and we log every administrative action for accountability.

8. International transfers

JSONStudio operates globally with infrastructure located in the United States and the European Union. When data crosses borders, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms. Vendors must meet our security standards before we authorize data transfers.
