Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 15 January 2025
These Terms describe the agreement between you and JSONStudio. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of JSONStudio's website, tools, and related resources (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
2. Description of service
JSONStudio offers browser-based tools for viewing, formatting, validating, and learning about JSON. The Service includes free utilities, premium enablement options, and third-party advertising placements. We reserve the right to modify functionality, discontinue features, or update documentation without prior notice. When changes impact contractual obligations, we will announce them via changelog posts or direct communication.
3. License and acceptable use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Service for lawful purposes. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the platform. Prohibited conduct includes uploading malware, attempting to discover other users' data, scraping content at a rate that degrades performance, or bypassing access controls. JSON payloads processed through the Service remain your property; we claim no ownership over them.
If you offer feedback or feature suggestions, you grant JSONStudio a perpetual, royalty-free license to implement those ideas without obligation to you. We welcome collaboration but cannot accept contributions encumbered by third-party rights.
4. Accounts and security
Most of the Service functions without an account. Should we introduce optional accounts in the future, you must provide accurate information and protect your credentials. Notify us immediately at security@jsonstudio.online if you suspect unauthorized access. JSONStudio is not liable for losses arising from compromised passwords that result from your negligence.
5. Third-party content and advertising
Our blog and documentation may contain links to external sites. JSONStudio does not control those properties and is not responsible for their policies or availability. Advertising units, including Google AdSense placements, are clearly labeled. Advertisers may set their own cookies and measurement tags; consult their documentation for details. We vet partners for compliance but do not endorse every product featured in ads.
6. Paid services
Some features--such as enterprise onboarding, training workshops, or bespoke integrations--may require payment. Fees are described in separate order forms or statements of work. Unless otherwise stated, invoices are due within 30 days. Late payments may accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum rate permitted by law. Taxes, bank fees, and currency conversion charges are your responsibility.
7. Intellectual property
All content on the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and code, is owned by JSONStudio or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may quote brief excerpts in documentation or tutorials provided you attribute JSONStudio and link back to the source. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution is prohibited.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. JSONSTUDIO DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR UNIQUE USE CASE. YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH USING THE TOOLS, INCLUDING POTENTIAL DATA LOSS IF YOU CLOSE THE BROWSER WITHOUT SAVING.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JSONStudio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) USD $100 or (b) the amount you paid to JSONStudio for paid services in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JSONStudio, its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of applicable laws. We will notify you of any claim subject to indemnification and allow you to control the defense, provided such control does not compromise our rights or reputation.
11. Termination
JSONStudio may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you have breached the Terms, violated the law, or created risk for other users. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately, but the sections of these Terms dealing with ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, and governing law survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in state or federal courts located in Austin, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction. We encourage negotiation and mediation before litigation.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update the Terms to reflect new features, regulatory requirements, or business practices. When changes are material, we will post a prominent notice on the site and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be directed to legal@jsonstudio.online.
